| Service Level Agreements Service level agreements are fundamental to disaster recovery planning. Why? Quite simply because they define the terms of delivery for your critical services, including levels of availability and and actions in the event of unavailability.
Very basic of course, but is is surprising how many businesses accept key services in an ad hoc manner, without the governance and assurance of an SLA.
One reason for this may well be that the creation of a service level agreement is not a straight forward job. It requires expertise and knowledge. However, by the use of the right tool it is very much simplified.
THE SLA TOOLKIT
This comprises a complete service level agreement template and a guide to aid completion.
The latter takes you through each clause in the template, explaining what input is necessary to ensure the finished article is of the highest quality.
Both elements are provided in MS-Word format, for ease of use and flexibility. The guide is connected to the template via the use of Word macros: after you have read the relevant section of the guide, you click on the link to be taken directly to the relevant section of the template. This makes creation of the final SLA very straight forward, even for the novice.
